Aethelwyne Empty Aethelwyne

1. Character's name: Aethelwyne

2. Character's gender: female

3. Character's Race: Human/Elf

4. Character's description: Aethelwyne is 28 years old. She ages differently than a human does because of the blood of the elves that runs through her veins. She does not share their longevity though she will live many years longer than a normal human. Her bond with Edoc’sil will also play into how long she will live but she does not fear death. She only fears living a life with no meaning or purpose now in this new age. She wears flowing dresses and an emerald cloak that conceals her sword and a dagger. Her skin is fair and she has white hair with violet eyes. She is tall and slim and can move easily within many circles because she is not viewed as someone who would pose a threat.

5. Character's Attitude: Aethelwyne is a woman lost in time. She has seen and done things that take her leaps and bounds past her 28 years. She is cautious and guarded in her actions now. The life she once knew is gone from her. She is bitter and sarcastic at times but she has a very loving and caring nature if you can get past her exterior. She values honesty and honor. If you are lucky enough to be counted among the very few friends that she has she will stop at nothing for you. She can be hard to get to know but if you get in to her trust you will see a totally different person than what she presents to the world.

6. Dragon's name/description: Edoc’sil is a dragon born in the wild. He found Aethelwyne and bonded with her sensing the wild spirit the woman possessed. They are soul mates, reunited as he likes to tell her. Edoc’sil is large, extremely muscular and a deep jade green. His eyes are purple, darker than Aethelwyne’s.

7. Dragon's Attitude: He is playful, sarcastic at times and tries to keep Aethelwyne grounded. He is her voice of reason. He would do anything to protect her and their bond is extremely close as they chose each other to partner with after he had hatched and lived in the wild.

8. Weapons normally used: She carries a sword under her cloak and a dagger on her back in the waist of her gown. She is a magic user, though at times she gives in to the blood lust that hand to hand combat allows. She also wears large silver bracelets the length of her forearms that hide blades. A pressure switch releases and retracts the blades at will. She prefers these weapons as they look unopposing but allow her to be very close to her enemies when she strikes. She can also alter her appearance with a wave of her hand. Her mother was a seithr or witch and taught her much of their ways. Glamour, the ability to alter her appearance, was a strength she showed naturally at the age of two. She knows the forests and natural remedies to supplement her magical abilities.

9. History of Character (doesn't need to be extremely detailed, but enough so we can understand him/her) Aethelwyne was born to a human mother. She was a member of a seithr’s coven of assassins utilized by Galbatorix. Her mother left the coven when she met and fell in love with an elf. He was a weapons master and took her as his lifemate. Unable to find acceptance in either the human or elven world, they took up residence on their own and raised her in their forest home. Aethelwyne developed skills at an early age at both their knees. Her parents were killed in an attack by Empire Riders when she was 12. She ran as her father instructed traveling deep into the forest. That is where she met Edoc’sil. She lived with him for four more years but on her 16th birthday was approached by her mother’s sister, high priestess of the coven. Nashante saw promise and power within Aethelwyne. She brought her to the coven and proceeded to train her in their ways. Edoc’sil though disproving of the move, followed her to make sure she stayed safe. She quickly rose within the ranks of the coven but not finding their allegiances to her liking, she struck out on her own. She worked as assassin for whomever could pay her price and boldly challenged Galbatorix, himself at one point. A large gauge in his gilded throne chair bore witness to how close she had been able to get to him. Her actions had been a warning to him that she was not an Empire pawn, nor was she a pawn to be used by the Varden. She fell in love with an elf, following in her mother’s footsteps. She was happy and his love gave her direction and allowed her to grow. She began to see the beauty in everything around her and dreamed of a future. Her happiness was not meant to be. He was killed, mistaken for an Empire agent. Aethelwyne started on a long, spiraling descent into madness until one day, after Galbatorix’s reign had come to an end, she met Eragon.

10. Short RP sample (2-3 paragraphs)
The night air caressed her skin as she slowly stepped toward the bar in the small town. The crisp brittle grass cracked under her footsteps. As she neared the entrance, she stopped and drew in a large, deep breath. Centering herself she proceeded through the door to her target. She saw him sitting at a table near the door. Walking slowly toward him she met his gaze and he smiled. “Where have you been?”

“Can we walk? The night is gorgeous and I do not want to be trapped inside.” she asked him. He looked at her longingly and quietly rose and exited with her. They walked under the moon as he held her close to him. ‘She intoxicates me and I am happy to drink it in’ he thought as they moved together. When they reached the opening at the grove, she turned to him allowing him to gather her up in his arms. Moving to whisper in his ear, her lips brushed his cheek as she whispered “You’re dead.” Before he could react a hand reached from the darkness. A strong grip held her wrist in an iron embrace.

“Leave.” A deep voice spoke from behind her. The man’s eyes widened and he ran, falling as he tripped over his feet then scrambling quickly he was gone. Aethelwyne turned and looked up into the eyes of her captor. Her own violet eyes narrowing. “Eragon. Why do you interfere.” He smiled at her though his grip did not loosen. “The time for this is done. I can show you a better way.” In the distance two mighty dragons were heard roaring in unison. “Listen to his proposition Aethelwyne. The time has come to stop running. It is time to live for something once again.” She took a deep breath, her eyes holding him intently. “Very well. What is it you propose?”
